EXPLORE THE LANGUAGE WITH CORPUS!

Hello again!

We have a new assignment this week. We are to make a lesson plan for a high school preparatory class and integrate corpus use in our lesson plans. We are also to prepare a digital worksheet for our lesson. This is a group work assignment, and my friends Almina, Nilüfer, and Sude are on it. Firstly, we made our digital worksheet according to the examples our instructor provided. This was a four-stage worksheet. It has steps like testing students’ knowledge, introducing corpus—for this, we used “Corpus Mate” because it was easier to use for us and for students-, making students inductively discover, and lastly, practicing. I prepared the last part "practicing". It was fun to design our material in Canva. I think our material meets the qualities and is visually engaging. At the bottom of the page, you can see the link to our worksheet.

The second step was to make a lesson plan based on the template we were given and according to the ASSURE plan. By searching and brainstorming we made our lesson plan. We tried to clearly explain the parts given. Its link is also at the end of the page with the diagram explaining ASSURE and its steps for you to see. Overall, creating a worksheet part was quite okay but dealing with corpus is a bit hard because it's too complicated. The Corpus Mate as I've said was easier to use and we managed to finish our assignment.
